15 and 22-24 February 2023

First call

The International Carpathian School, winter session, is opening doors to the “European Green Deal” and cooperation in a hybrid format due to the status of the war in Ukraine. The purpose of the session is to expand networking activities in the Carpathian region aiming at sustainable development of mountainous territorial communities. The session is hosting experts from the Ministry for Environmental protection of Ukraine and the Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention, Vienna, Austria. February 15 session is organized together with the PreMiWaFi project, Sweden. We are welcoming graduate and post-graduate students, early-career practitioners, researchers, civic society activists, and state and local authorities to take part in a remote winter session.

Organizers: Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Faculty of Geography; National Ecological Center of Ukraine; Kosiv Branch of the Shevchenko Scientific Society (Ivano-Frankivsk region). The event is held with the assistance and participation of scientists from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Lviv Polytechnic National University, V.G. Korolenko Poltava National Pedagogical University, State University of Infrastructure and Technology, Bukovinian State Medical University; Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and partner universities of the Baltic States.

Partnership: National Nature Parks “Hutsulschyna”; “Vyzhnytskiy” and “Carpatskiy”; International Charitable Organization “Green Dossier Information Agency”, Intellectual Forum “United Europe”, Union of Designers of Ukraine, Western Centre of the Ukrainian branch of the “International Centre for Scientific Culture – World Laboratory”. Local partners – Regional Charitable Organization “Centre for Public Initiatives” and Kosiv Lyceum named after Ihor Pelipeyko.

Terms of participation: Participation is free of charge. Participants will have free access to the online sections and Google disk depository of MP4 presentations. The Proceedings (Ukrainian/English) will be issued under the auspices of Taras Shevchenko National University (ISBN) and posted on the partner’s websites. The format of the Abstracts is given at the link. The enrolled students from the partner universities may receive three ECTS credits proved by the Certificate program of academic mobility of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. The selected synopses will be recommended for publishing in professional journals “Environmental Problems” (English), “Physical Geography and Geomorphology” and “Higher School” (Ukrainian).
