On April 19, 2024, the final online seminar of the project “Education for sustainable development: transferring the experience of V4 countries for the recovery of Ukraine” took place. The event brought together project partners to summarize the results and discuss further cooperation.
During the presentation part of the seminar, Ruslan Havryliuk spoke about its goals, the partners involved, and the activities carried out. Project manager Taras Kovalchuk presented the results, including the created online educational platform, training seminars, and the winter session of the International Carpathian School, a collection of scientific papers, and a curriculum on the project. Partners were invited to contribute to the content of the online platform.
The discussion panel moderated by Valeriy Mykhailenko became a platform for discussing future initiatives. Ideas for developing cooperation in the Carpathian region included a summer school in Poland for Ukrainian students, projects in education and sustainable development, cultural exchanges between countries, support for the Erasmus Plus program, bringing together students from different countries, and an event involving universities from the Carpathian countries.
“The project has achieved its goals thanks to the coordinated work of the team and the support of European partners,” said Ruslan Havryliuk, “We have reached the planned target groups, held 8 successful online seminars and the Carpathian School, which exceeded expectations.
The creation of a youth link and strengthening of cooperation between Ukrainian non-governmental organizations and educational institutions with the Visegrad countries were also noted.
The participants agreed to further cooperate to develop the Carpathian Convention and the Science for the Carpathians initiative. The key achievements of the project were the creation of the Carpathian School’s online hub, the publication of a collection of scientific papers, and the creation of an educational program that will be implemented in leading Ukrainian universities. At the end of the meeting, the foreign partners highly appreciated the project and expressed their readiness for further cooperation.
