The National Ecological Center of Ukraine is proud to announce that Ms. Oksana Volosko-Demkiv was elected as one of the two UNEP Regional Facilitators of Major Groups and Stakeholders to represent Europe alongside with Ms. Patrizia Heidegger of European Environmental Bureau (EEB – Belgium).
The Regional Facilitators at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) role is to promote partnerships with other UN bodies, development banks and other institutions, including Major Groups and Stakeholders in six UNEP regions (Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America and West Asia). Two Regional Facilitators per region, being selected by accredited organizations, provide varied views from their regions allowing civil society to substantially contribute to the UNEP programme delivery.
We are confident that Ms.Oksana Volosko-Demkiv will efficiently facilitate dialogues on environmental issues, play a prominent expert role in the environmental policy-making process presenting agreed and balanced positions from the region during the Regional Consultative Meetings, major regional meetings/fora or events, including at the ministerial level. Her devotion to tackling environmental issues in the region is making a significant difference to life of people without compromising principles of environmental sustainability. We are convinced that Ms. Oksana Volosko-Demkiv will apply her skills and extensive work experience to enhance cooperation and networking between different stakeholders affiliated to UNEP.
