The participants of the project “Education for Sustainable Development: Transferring the Experience of the Visegrad Countries for the Recovery of Ukraine” met online on December 7, 2023, to discuss the topic “Phytoremediation of Contaminated Soils”. More than 30 participants were registered for the online seminar. At the seminar, the participants listened to a presentation and then moved on to the debate, which was held in accordance with the agenda. The seminar was conducted by Piotr Rybarczyk, PhD, Associate Professor at the Gdańsk University of Technology.
During the meeting, the following topics were discussed: remediation of contaminated soils, main sources of soil pollution, methods of remediation of contaminated soils, biological methods of soil remediation, phytoremediation of contaminated soils, and modes of phytoremediation of soils.
The second part of the seminar was devoted to debates moderated by Mr. Valeriy Mykhailenko. During the debates, several topics were discussed, such as pilot projects of phytoremediation applied in real life and examples of phytoremediation in industry.
