September 25, 2025 | online event within the Visegrad Fund project
The International Carpathian School invites you to join the online session that will take place on September 25, 2025, as part of the celebration of Carpathian Day in Ukraine — an event that this year officially appeared for the first time in the Ukrainian calendar.
The event is organized by the National Ecological Center of Ukraine (NECU) with the support of the Visegrad Fund under the project “Shifting towards Ecotourism in Protected Areas through Heritage Interpretation”.
Goal of the Event
To unite scientists, conservationists, educators, representatives of civil society organizations, and government authorities in order to foster international dialogue on sustainable management of the Carpathians — both as a natural and a cultural heritage.
Participants
Representatives of partner organizations from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Ukraine are invited to participate. They will share experiences in implementing practices of sustainable tourism, educational programs, heritage interpretation in national parks, and organizing international youth initiatives.
The session will take place in an online format, enabling broader participation from across all regions of the Carpathians.

- Plenary presentation: Science for the Carpathians network and outcomes of the VIII Carpaticum Forum
- Partner presentations: experiences of national parks and environmental education programs from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland
- Practical block: presentation of student initiatives supported by the Visegrad Fund
- Round table: discussion on further directions for cooperation in the Carpathian region
WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?
We invite young researchers, students, postgraduates, educators, representatives of conservation institutions, tourism organizations, civic activists, as well as representatives of local and national authorities working in the fields of sustainable development, nature conservation, tourism, and environmental education.
The event will contribute to strengthening international cooperation, developing environmentally oriented approaches to managing natural areas, and building a network of sustainable development practitioners in the Carpathian region.
